Day 2 of the Inter County Matches saw the wind drop and rain come in….and out….and back in again. We got quite wet! 🌧️
The Team took on Stirling and Clackmannanshire whilst Fife played against East Lothian. We were second on the tee today with a strong foursomes line up. Karen Marshall and Hilary Laughland took on County Captain, Laura Bissett and Alison Jones, which resulted in a convincing 6&5 win. Next pairing was the strong youngsters of Freya Constable and Molly Nicholson who were drawn against the S&C youngsters Erin Huskie and Lara Douglas, which turned out to be a very close match which could have gone either way but Freya and Molly pulled it back to go 1 up at 17 and Molly holed a knee knocking putt at 18 to secure a half and win the match. The final foursomes match was between Kate McIntosh and Rachael Livingstone who had a tough game against Linda Allan and Jennie Allan which finished with an interestingly played 18th by both pairings – I’m saying no more (!) – to secure a fair result of a halved match.
Morning Result: 2.5 /0.5 Win
We knew we had to continue to come out strong in the afternoon against the tough opposition of S&C and the Team once again delivered a great performance in securing a 4.5 / 1.5 win.
