Midlothian County has a flourishing Girls Section. Please contact the Junior Secretary Caroline Steedman  at  juniors@mclga.com for more details about Junior membership and coaching or if you have any questions.

We organise monthly coaching sessions held at the Braid Hills Driving Range on the first Sunday of each month throughout the year (except July and August).  These are aimed at girls either wanting to get started with golf or to improve their skills.  These sessions are fun and have an opportunity to make friends, receive feedback on their golf, encourage them to join clubs, gain handicaps and enter competitions.

To put those skills learned at the range into practice we hold 9-hole competitions once a month at Swanston Templar Course (every 3rd Sunday 9:30am) and these are open to all girls with or without a handicap and is £5 to enter.  The bi-annual Adult/Girl competition proves to be particularly popular!

The Junior Development Squad is a select group of girls with a handicap ready to take their golf to the next level with a structured coaching programme under the expert tuition of Ian Muir, held at Kingsfield Golf & Leisure Centre. This takes place on Sunday mornings from October to April and it consists of 50 hours in total.

Junior Membership is £10 for 2019

Competitions

All girls with handicaps are encouraged to enter – Girls involved in the development and academy programmes at Kingsfield are expected to enter please.

These competitions are a good way of playing new courses as well as making new friends and gaining experience in matchplay. The foursomes will be drawn for partners.

If you hold a CONGU handicap and are interested please indicate below. The draws will be made and emailed in February, hopefully giving plenty of time for matches to be finalised by October.
