Midlothian County has a flourishing Girls Section. Please contact the Junior Secretary Caroline Steedman  at  juniors@mclga.com for more details about Junior membership and coaching or if you have any questions.

We organise monthly coaching sessions held at the Braid Hills Driving Range on the first Sunday of each month throughout the year (except July and August).  These are aimed at girls either wanting to get started with golf or to improve their skills.  These sessions are fun and have an opportunity to make friends, receive feedback on their golf, encourage them to join clubs, gain handicaps and enter competitions.

To put those skills learned at the range into practice we hold 9-hole competitions quarterly at Swanston Templar Course and these are open to all girls with or without a handicap and is £5 to enter.  The Annual Adult/Girl competition proves to be particularly popular! Dates will be e-mailed out to members and posted on the website. For 2021 it is likely we will move to quarterly Adult/Girl competitions and this will be communicated through the website.

The Junior Development Squad is a select group of girls with a handicap & who are able to cope with the demands of taking their golf to the next level. The girls are offered a structured coaching programme under the expert tuition of Chloe Thackeray & held at Turnhouse Golf Club. This takes place on Sunday mornings from 9-12pm & this year is running from January to May, & consists of 30 hours in total. The cost is £210.

Junior Membership with no coaching £10 for 2021.

Junior Membership with coaching at Braids Driving Range February to June is £45 for 2021.

Junior coaching September to January at Braids Driving Range is an additional £35 and will be collected later in the calendar year.
