We played our second Intra Squad match at Craigmillar Park GC on Sunday 23rd April.
The weather forecast wasn’t great but we managed to get round dry albeit a little cold with the biting East wind 🥶.
As mentioned in my last post, one of the purposes of these matches is to provide an opportunity for team bonding ahead of the annual Inter County matches. In the end, we had 6 players who were available so we played a fun Texas Scramble format.
Caroline Steedman (Murrayfield), Louise Fraser (Kingsknowe) and Rachael Livingstone (Baberton) emerged the winners shooting 9 under against Kate Rorke (Kingsknowe), Hilary Laughland (Mortonhall) and Nicky Graham (Baberton) who shot 5 under.  Well done to Hilary for narrowly missing a hole in one at the 15th!  Very impressive tee shot 💪
Both Teams demonstrated great team spirit and were playing lovely golf with each trying hard to hole the long putts to secure the birdies.
Many thanks to all six players and also to our Selector, Linda Wemyss for accompanying me round the course.
Grateful thanks also to Celia Macintyre, Craigmillar Park Rep, for organising the tee times and to Craigmillar Park GC for granting us courtesy of the course, which is very much appreciated. I’d also like to thanks the Pro, who was very welcoming and the Greens staff for presenting the course so well.
Looking forward to our next Intra Squad match at Kingsknowe GC on Friday 19 May at 5pm.
