Congratulations to Rosemary Henaughen (Ravelston) & Avril Auchterlonie (Craigmillar Park) winners of the 2023 Winter Foursomes beating Catherine Wilkie (Baberton ) & Julie Robb (Baberton), 4&3 in the final at Baberton. Commiserations to Catherine and Julie.
Avril and Rosemary kindly provided the following report:
“Being right down at the bottom of the draw, we were not going to have any home matches. However, we struck it lucky on our first match which was at Craigmillar, and is Avril’s home turf. After that, we played at Liberton, Prestonfield and Baberton and hardly had a spot of rain on any of the days. All the matches were challenging and we enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends and play at different courses. Playing on unfamiliar territory certainly focussed the mind and the extra concentration paid off!”
Well done to the 55 pairs who took part in the Competition and managed to play their matches despite what seemed like weeks of course closures.
