A great display was put on by the Midlothian girls in the match play stages of the Strathtyrum Trophy over the last few days. Of the 6 girls who qualified, 3 made it through to the quarter finals with Pamela Williamson losing out narrowly by 2 holes to Ann Ramsay from Kirriemuir and Louise Fraser going down by 5&4 to the eventual trophy winner Rachel Hanlon from St Regulus, playing on her home soil. The third member of the trio, Karen Marshall, made it through the quarter finals, after a tight match, but succombed in the semi finals, by 3&2, to Elaine Clark from Manchester. Obviously Elaine took to the early morning rise better than Karen – they teed of at 7.24 this morning!
