Another fixture returns to the Calendar, last played at Liberton in 2019. The Commonwealth Spoons made a welcome return to Dalmahoy West Course with 52 couples turning up to play. The day started off a little cool and wet but soon warmed up to a glorious afternoon but it did turn to another cool evening.

This competition is run as a qualifying competition for the Scottish Final in August at Dullatur Golf Club, this year, organised by SGL, to compete for the Commonwealth Spoons donated by the Australian Ladies’ Golf Union.  Due to the number of couples playing today, the top 5 couples with the best nett scores will go forward to play.

The West Course at Dalmahoy may not be the longest in comparison but deviate too much and it will have the last laugh. Players appeared to really enjoy their day and golf and going by the scores, most would appear not to have deviated too much!!

We are very grateful to Dalmahoy Golf & Country Club for accommodating us today and to the standard of the Course kept by the greenkeepers. We are still keeping volunteers to a minimum due to the the Covid virus and the Midlothian officials are covering this. Thanks to the officials who were able to work hard for us behind the scenes leading up to the event and today ‘checking in’ players, scorecard returns and general queries on the day.

Todays winners including an excellent winning nett score by a local couple –
