On Sunday Midlothian County held the Cuthbertson Cup at Turnhouse Golf Club.
The morning singles matches were between Stirling & Clackmannanshire v. Midlothian & Fife v. East Lothian.
Whilst the Midlothian Team of Megan Fallon ( Broomieknowe), Lucy Fraser (Murrayfield), Katie Mackenzie (Craigmillar Park) & Rita Murphy (Murrayfield) were the strongest team on paper the S&C juniors played some fantastic golf to pull off a deserved 3-1 victory. Congratulations to Rita Murphy (Murrayfield) for the sole win for Midlothian.

Ava Patterson beat Lucy Fraser, 6&5
Eva Woodward beat Katie Mackenzie, 5&3
Erin McAlpine lost to Rita Murphy, 3&2
Sadly the Midlothian Junior Team were unable to mirror the European team by making it 3 in a row but they have done extremely well to get back to back victories & Midlothian are extremely proud of their achievement.
Fife were given a bye through to the final as East Lothian could only provide 2 girls, Louise Martin (Gullane) & Ana Zanova (Musselburgh), so their team was complimented by an additional Midlothian player, Alannah Nichol (Swanston) & Verity Swift (St Regulus) from Fife.
Thank you to all the girls for playing & sure the matches will have provided you with valuable experience.
The final saw some close matches & although S&C had the stronger team, they didn’t have it all their own way but were victorious with a 3-1 win over Fife to lift the trophy.
