Our Junior members have lots of opportunities to play competitive golf, and we would encourage participation in all events, however we recommend National, Regional and County meetings take priority where practical.

Below is a list of competitions that MCLGA Junior members are eligible to enter for 2025.

East of Scotland Girls Golfing Association (Regional Competitions)

MCLGA continues to encourage our junior members to play in the numerous events organised by the ESGGA over the year.

MCLGA Competitions (County Events)

Junior members with a handicap are eligible to enter MCLGA County competitions. The dates for 2025 are as follows; 

• Spring Meeting - 25/04/2025 at Ratho Park


• County Championship at Ratho Park:
  • 25/04/2025 - 'A' Knockouts First Round
  • 27/04/2025 - 'A' and 'B' Quarter-Finals
  • 03/05/2025 - 'A' and 'B' Semi-Finals
  • 04/05/2025 - 'A' and 'B' Finals


• Summer Meeting - 14/07/2025 at Liberton


• Autumn Meeting - 11/09/2025 at Kingsknowe

MCLGA Competitions - no handicap required

We also run a number of competitons for juniors without a handicap and the details for each are as follows;

Adult & Junior
The Adult/Junior competitions prove to be particularly popular! The dates will be be e-mailed out to all junior members and posted on the website.

Braids Junior Competition
This event is run for the younger juniors who participate in the Braids Coaching and will be held over the Braids Wee Course which is a 9 hole course. The date of this event will be e-mailed out to members and posted on the website.

Singles Knockout
This competition is for all Juniors who have a World Handicap Index (WHI).
