Scottish Golf recently communicated with Areas, Counties and Clubs to advise they would be transitioning from VMS tech provider to DotGolf. Scottish Golf’s reason for the system change was twofold:
- In reviewing the market, DotGolf demonstrated software to them that delivered on golf clubs’ needs and responded to their feedback
- DotGolf’s software is significantly easier to use and offers additional functions that golf clubs have been requesting for some time, including accounting software, more appealing websites, and better user experience.
DotGolf was established 25 years ago and provides feature-rich, easy-to-use club management systems to all of New Zealand’s 280 golf clubs. It also provides tech solutions to England Golf, Wales Golf and Golf Ireland (app and websites). You can view some further information as follows:
Officials are attending demonstration and Q&A roadshows on 27 October and 1 November to find out more about the system prior to it going live on 1 January 2023. Clearly, this will have an impact on our County in that we will be unable to use VMS to do our membership renewals and will need to learn a new system for our competitions in 2023 and beyond. However, we hope some lessons have been learned and the transition of all our data will be a smooth experience and that DotGolf is a more sophisticated and stable platform.
