Following appointing a Vice Captain at the AGM in November, I am advising the membership that Paula McDougall has decided to step down from the role with immediate effect for health reasons. Paula is dealing with a lot of uncertainty with her health currently, and on reflection, doesn’t feel able to commit fully to the role. She has kindly agreed to help me in the background as much as she is able, until I find a replacement.
I have previously made the membership aware that we are currently without an Honorary Treasurer, Junior Secretary and now, Vice Captain. Whilst individuals are covering the basics of these roles, they have either served their term, or are supporting in the background waiting for these posts to be filled. I am extremely grateful to Jane MacDonald, Caroline Steedman and Paula in this respect but we cannot expect them to continue to do this for the foreseeable future.
We have tried throughout last year and beyond to find replacements for these roles. I am therefore reaching out to you, the membership, to come forward and volunteer for these posts and/or notify me of individuals you feel would be worth approaching. We cannot continue to run the County without the support of volunteers so please do get in touch and I can chat through what’s involved with these roles.
