What a great start to the season and our first competition as 86 ladies arrived to compete in the Spring Meeting and Championship Qualifier.  As the players arrived at Mortonhall GC, it was a bright morning with the sun coming in and out of the clouds across the day and a spring chill in the air at times.  Towards the end of the day the cloud thickened, and it became pretty cold for those who set out late afternoon.

Grateful thanks go to the whole team at Mortonhall GC for hosting and looking after us so well.

The Course was in great condition for this time of year and it was good to have the first hole back in play.  Compliments coming from players for definition of the fairways and the conditions of the greens, although many found them very tricky! Thanks must also go to the Greenkeeping team for doing a fantastic job in getting the course prepared before our arrival. The Clubhouse was well prepared and welcoming for the return of golfers and the catering on offer provided some players with a tasty treat after their golf.

We couldn’t run our events without the help of our volunteers on the check-in desk and supporting us with VMS and closing the competition. So a huge thank you to President Sheila Stuart, Susan Randall, Sharon Macpherson, Past Captain Louise Fraser and Coleen Derighetti for all your time and support, it is very much appreciated 🤩

Well done and congratulations to all the players who won a placing in the Spring Meeting and to the Championship qualifiers for the A and B Championship, which will take place at Mortonhall GC on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May with tee times from 11:00 and 15:30 both days. The top qualifier of the day goes to Karen Ferguson-Snedden (Mortonhall) with a fantastic score of scratch 75. Well done Karen 👏👏
