The last time we played a Midlothian Spring Meeting there was a real mixed bag of weather conditions which was at Dalmahoy G&CC in 2019. With recent weather conditions we never thought this would be the case this year but who would have guessed it, the weather change for the slight worse came again on our Spring Meeting and Championship qualifying day. Coming out of a restricted lifestyle we had a good entry for the day and regardless of weather it was great to see players turn up to play which was a real treat for some to play a different course and play with different people. Being there for the whole day I would say our evening players got the worst weather yet again!
Thanks go to Kingsknowe Golf Club for letting us play our competition at their course. The Course was in great condition for this time of year with some compliments coming from players for definition of the fairways and the conditions of the greens. Thanks go to the Greenkeeping team for getting the course prepared before our arrival. The Clubhouse was well prepared in a professional manner for the return of golfers and the catering on offer provided some players with a tasty treat after their golf.
As always a big thank you to our volunteers. Kept to a minimum just now but we could not run the day without the volunteers on the desk duty and to those who offered help in the closing of the competition which we are still in communication with SGL. Our helpers, Vice Captain Isla McCrone, President Sheila Stuart, Secretary Angela Hughes, Kinsgknowe Club Rep Elaine Lumsden and SGL Non Exec Director Caroline Mansley.
