Congratulations Hannah!

Hannah Darling, Broomieknowe GC,  played fabulous golf today to become the 2017 Girls Champion.  She had six birdies and an eagle in the 36 hole final with Jillian Farrell, Cardross GC, who had nine birdies over the two rounds. Hannah finished the first round 1 up and started the second round in a rush to gain a 5 up lead by the 26th hole.   Jillian mounted a strong comeback and had reduced Hannah’s lead to 1 by the 13th in the second round with a shot that hit the flag and rested about 6 inches from the hole.  They halved the 14th then Hannah gained one back with a birdie at the par 3 15th.  She gained another at the 16th with a tremendous eagle to beat Jillian’s birdie.   Hannah was two up going down the 17th but her win was held up by a birdie from Jillian. She sealed the match with a birdie on the 18th.  This was  tremendous display of golf  that included four holed chips from off the green in the last two days.
Well done Hannah and thank you for all the hard work you have put in over the last two years or so.  Thanks too to your parents and your coach, Ian Muir, for the support they have given you.
