On a sweltering day yesterday at Baberton our girls did us proud. Emma Morrison from Craigmillar Park qualified for the Matchplay stages of the Scottsh girls amateur open. Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe), Georgia Ledingham (Craigmillar Park), Lisa McPherson (Baberton), Carys Irvine (Craigielaw) and Jessica Walker (Mortonhall) are all playing in the net matchplay . Well done to all of you and the very best of luck today.
Eilidh Crawford from Baberton had a fantastic first round of 73 gross but sadly succomed to the heat in the afternoon round.

Not sure which is worse the heat of yesterday or the rain of today. I think Scottish golf should definately have left it as a four day competition. I do hope that none of our juniors feel they will not compete again due to having the 36 hole strokeplay. Really hard on the younger players that they are trying to encourage. Please think again Scottish Golf for next year.
