As you will be aware, Jane MacDonald has been very ably holding the reigns as our co-opted Honorary Treasurer for the last couple of seasons. Jane has recently indicated that she will not be able to complete the accounts this year due to having to step in to support club administration.
I am pleased to inform you, that at the May Committee meeting, our Club representative and officials agreed to co-opt Sara onto the Committee with immediate effect. Sara will stand for election at the November 2024 AGM.
Jane and Sara will start the transition of responsibilities very shortly so that Jane can formally step away by the August reps meeting . I have provided a short biography of Sara below for your information.
Sara Buchanan
Sara Buchanan is a retired Detective Superintendent, having served in Lothian and Borders Police / Police Scotland for 30 years. During this time she was vetted to the highest level, managed large budgets and was honoured in the 2019 Queens New Year Honours List, receiving a QPM for services to policing.
Sara has been a Director of Lomond Park for 3 years, where she manages the subscriptions of 315 households, gathering in the payments via PayPal and bank accounts, organising new members, cancellations and key delivery, along with helping the other Directors in their roles as required.
As a keen sports woman, Sara spent over 20 years undertaking various roles in both her local Hockey and Police Hockey teams, including Captain, Secretary, Treasurer and Honorary President. Since her retirement, she has been a member of Bruntsfield Links Golf Society, and is presently the ladies team captain.
