75 couples competed in our Midsummer Foursomes at Liberton yesterday.The competition is a qualifier for the Commonwealth Spoons.
Rain threatened early on but in general the weather was good albeit a bit chilly.
Some good scores were returned and 8 couples will go forward to the final stages of the competition at Ladybank in September.
1st Scratch: Wendy Nicholson (Broomieknowe) & Karen Marshall(Baberton) 73
1st Handicap: Alison McKechanie & Jane Crispin (Ravelston) 93 – 26.5 = 66.5
2nd Handicap: Sheila Hunter &Susan Tudball (Murrayfield) 93 – 24 = 69 (bih)
3rd Handicap: Sylvia Cooke & Deborah Lawson (Merchants) 86 -17 = 69
