Midlothian do the triple this year as our amazing juniors win the Cuthbertson Cup, meaning Midlothian take home the trophies for the Jamboree, County Finals and Cuthbertson Cup in 2024! 👏
The morning singles matches were between; East Lothian v. Midlothian
& Stirling & Clackmannanshire v. Fife.
Our Midlothian Team of Megan Fallon (Broomieknowe), Katie Mackenzie (Craigmillar Park), Summer Xie (Swanston) & Rita Murphy (Murrayfield) had a solid start and squeaked the 2.5 – 1.5 win which meant we played a strong Stirling & Clackmannanshire team in the afternoon singles.

Rita Murphy lost to Kate Thomson 4&3
Refuelled after our soup and sandwich lunch Midlothian headed out against Stirling & Clackmannanshire who beat Fife 3-1 in the morning matches. With Megan facing a tough opponent, Katie, Summer and Rita made a strong start behind with Rita holing a 40 foot putt on the 5th for birdie to take a 4UP lead and Katie hitting a 7 wood into the 9th for an eagle 3 to get back to square at the turn.
With a nail bitting finish on the back nine and it coming down to Katie’s last putt on the 18 to secure the half point, the girls brought it home and the afternoon result was also a 2.5 – 1.5 victory for Midlothian.

The two foursomes matches were contested by Fife and East Lothian and in the end was won by East Lothian with a 1.5 to 0.5 result.

Thanks to the parents and spectators who kept me updated on scores as I struggled to be in 4 places at once and thanks to Wendy & Karen for dropping in to see them off in the afternoon.
Final thanks to host venue Glenbervie Golf Club and the organisers Jennie & Linda from S&C for a brilliant day. Course was in great condition and the hospitality was fantastic.
