As players and officials set off from Edinburgh in wet, windy and cold conditions, the first warm up match of the season was against Borders County at Eyemouth GC. We were assured the course was open and very much playable. As always, the Borders Team gave us a warm welcome and the format of the day was four couples playing foursomes with strokes being given. Although it was a very windy day, it turned out to be glorious considering what was left behind in Edinburgh. Midlothian Team ventured out on the course full of enthusiasm trying out some new pairings within the squad. The final result favoured Midlothian 2 1/2 – 1 1/2. Well done Team Midlothian.
