Ladies Highland Open

Congratulations to Sal Shepherd (Craigmillar Park) who led the qualifiers into the match play stages of the Ladies’ Highland Open at Pitlochry Golf Club, wininng the stroke play by 8 shots. Sal then had a scare in the first round of the match play stages where she met a 15-year old Pitlochry member. The match was all square on the 18th tee and her opponent just missed out on birdying the hole to take the tie. Extra holes were called for and Sal managed to scrape through on the 23rd. After an exceedingly tight first round, Sal won her matches in the next two rounds within the regulation 18 holes and was in to the final. However, her run of form came to an end as she lost 3&2.
