Gibson Cup

A great weekend, in testing windy conditions, was had at the Braid Hills Golf Course with the annual hosting of the Gibson Cup. I cannot take away from Anne Brownie’s report which can be read at http://www.gilliankirkwood.com/ercn86/ but many congratulations to Wendy Nicholson and Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) who led the qualifiers on Saturday with a net 71.5 (0.5 under par), to Norma Richmond and Ray Lynch (Murrayfield) who won the second flight of the matchplay stage, to Louise Wells and Vivien Mitchell (Prestonfield) who won the Consolation Stableford Trophy with a bettter inward half from Dee Williams and Margaret Anderson (Craigmillar Park) and Ellice and Sandra Cackett (Broomieknowe), and especially to Karina Matson and Gillian Lithgow (Lothianburn) who are the 2009 winners of the 102 year old Gibson Cup.
