All matches have now been completed in the Five a Side League. The weather did try to trip us up this year, with a few matches having to be rescheduled. Also this year, some clubs struggled to field a full team, and Ravelston unfortunately had to concede all matches. The Terms have been updated regarding withdrawing from the league, and the officials are considering further updates regarding fielding a team. You can see the updated Terms here. Next season we will welcome Ratho Park back to the league. They will join Division 2 to replace Ravelston, and will take on the Ravelston fixtures.
Division 1
Congratulations to Baberton for retaining the MacFarlane Trophy, with 10 match points and 24 game points. Baberton have won 3 in a row! Murrayfield are close runners-up, also with 10 match points and 21.5 game points.
Baberton’s full team included: Adrienne Turner, Ella Marshall, Jackie Bracewell, Karen Marshall, Katherine Logan, Nicky Graham, Rachael Livingstone and Wendy Nicholson. Great team effort – well done girls!
Commiserations to both Craigmillar Park and Dalmahoy who will be relegated to Division 2 for the 2025 season.
Division 2
Congratulations to Liberton for winning the Thomson Trophy, with 13 match points and 27.5 game points. Liberton won all but one match, which they drew, very well done! Newbattle are runners-up, with 12 match points and 25.5 game points.
Both teams will be promoted to Division 1 for the 2025 season.
