ESGGA Summer Meeting 2010

Congratulations to Emma Morrison (Craigmillar Park) who won the overall handicap prize at today’s East of Scotland Girls Golfing Association Summer Meeting at Haddington Golf Club, in her first ESGGA competition. Emma scored a net 70 (CSS 73) in difficult windy conditions.

Also congratulations to Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw), Gillian Simpson (Murrayfield) and Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) who qualified for the East Girls Championship Matchplay, Gabrielle finishing in 2nd place with a 79, on the better last 3 holes.

In the first round of the Championship Matchplay, Gillian had a great comeback from 2 down to take the match against the top qualifier by 1 hole. At the opposite end of the draw, no. 2 qualifier Gabrielle met Kate in a tussle of the County Team newbies! Kate, on this occasion, had the upper hand and won the match by 4&3. In the semi-finals, Gillian will meet Alison Goodwin (Stirling and Clackmannan) while Kate will play Rachel Hanlon (Fife).
