In an original field of 55 players in the Scottish Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Aberdour, a total of 13 Midlothian players qualified into the match play stages. 7 qualified to play in the Net match play and 6 qualified to play in the Scratch match play main event.

The stroke play championship, played over the 2 qualifying rounds, was won by Elaine Moffat from St Regulas, Fife and Karen Ferguson-Snedden, Mortonhall, was a close runner up, only 2 shots behind.

Sarah Ledingham, Gullane played fellow Midlothian player Isla McCrone, Turnhouse and Jaci Moriarty, Lochend in the knock out rounds. Sarah had close fought matches to win 1up and 2up respectively. Sarah went into the final against Elaine Macgregor, England and won comfortably 4 and 2. Well done Sarah.

Karen Ferguson-Snedden also had some close matches and met fellow Midlothian Team member Karen Marshall in the quarter finals, winning 2 and 1. The closest fought match would be against Senior Internationalist Gillian Kyle from Renfrewshire County where Karen FS won at the 2nd extra hole. Karen went on to meet Iona McKean in the final who beat the defending champion and top seed Elaine Moffat. Karen won at the 17th hole 2 and 1. Well done Karen FS.
