Our third warm up match of the season was against the Scottish Veteran Ladies on Friday 20 May at The Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society.
The Scottish weather didn’t disappoint with the matches starting in shirt sleeves on a sunny, warm afternoon ☀️ but turned in last few holes and the matches ended in cold, wet and windy conditions 🥶💦💨
A Team of 8 played a better ball format and all matches were keenly contested however the Scottish Veteran Ladies gained the upper hand in first 3 matches from fairly early on.
We had two Juniors in our Team providing a great opportunity for them and both played some great golf and clearly enjoyed the experience. Well done Megan and Lucy! 🏌️♀️
The Championship course was challenging with strategically placed bunkers and tricky greens. Grateful thanks to Bruntsfield for their warm welcome and hospitality and especially to Isobel for her excellent service looking after us.
Also grateful thanks to Fiona De Vries and the Vets for the great spirit in which the games were played. We are already looking forward to next year!
And final thanks to our President Sheila Stuart for representing Midlothian whilst I played golf in sunny Turkey 😊
The results of the four ball better ball format were as follows:
Fiona Wait and Grace Cannon lost to Sheena Wood and Suzette Macleod 5&4
