Following on from the AGM a meeting for County Captains has been arranged for 6th May. I believe there was stunned silence when the vote against raising affiliation fees was announced and the consequences were considered. Many of us are against paying more than one affiliation fee but I was assured that that would change in 2019. It would have been better if it had been this year but with a massive cut in funding and finding a way to receive a contribution from nomadic golfers a necessity perhaps a year’s grace could be considered permissible.
Questions are also being asked about the current voting structure where Areas and Counties each have 10 votes giving them a combined clout of 44%. Perhaps its time to move to one club one vote. I don’t have any details yet but have signed up to attend and will keep you informed.
