Congratulations to Rachael Livingstone (Baberton) for becoming the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship Runner Up πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ.

The Championship is the women’s national amateur match play golf championship of Scotland and was first played in 1903, organised by the St Rule Club and played on the Old Course at St Andrews.

Rachael made the cut as eleventh qualifier on Friday with a very impressive 151 (76 in round one and 75 in round two).

She then went on to beat Hannah Ounap (Loudoun Gowf Club) in the first round of the matchplay (2&1), Katy Alexander (Blairgowrie) in the quarter final (2&1), Ailsa Brannock (Southerness) in the semi final (2&1), and was unfortunately defeated in the final by Carmen Griffiths (Aboyne), 6&5.

What an amazing performance Rachael, we are all very proud of you at Midlothian πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ€©

Well done also to all the other Midlothian members who played in the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship at Ladybank from 26-28 May.

Ladybank’s tight fairways, hard ground and very fiery greens made it a very long and challenging course and the two qualifying rounds are a test for the best.

Clark Rosebowl

Congratulations to Karen Ferguson-Snedden (Mortonhall) and Freya Constable (Prestonfield) who qualified for the Clark Rosebowl with Molly Nicholson (Prestonfield) just missing out in 33rd position – placings are determined by the second round score and she missed out by 1 shot! Β Karen was defeated on the 20th hole in the first round and Freya progressed to the quarter finals after beating Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie) 3&2 in the first round, and was unfortunately defeated by Freya Russell, 3&2. Β Well done to you both, great effort!

WELL DONE TEAM MIDLOTHIAN πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
