What a beautiful day for our Commonwealth Spoons at Prestonfield GC and lovely to see the players in more summer golf attire although the weather in the morning didn’t match the attire 🥶.  The weather did warm up as the day went on and blue sky and short sleeves started to emerge!

This competition is run as a qualifying competition for the Scottish Final in September at Kings Acre Golf Club, which is organised by SGL. 10% of the field qualify to compete in the Finals for the Commonwealth Spoons donated by the Australian Ladies’ Golf Union.  As we had 62 couples playing, the top 6 with the best nett scores will go forward to play.

The course was looking in super condition with the greens running smoothly and some great scores were returned. As always, the views around Edinburgh from the course are wonderful.

We are very grateful to Prestonfield GC for accommodating us today and to the standard of the Course kept by the greenkeepers. Special mention to the bar and catering staff who ensured we were all fed and watered.

Grateful thanks to Prestonfield Rep, Karen Craig, and members, Christine Campbell, Pat McGee and Liz Robertson and to our Secretary, Maureen for all your support.  All the volunteers work hard behind the scenes leading up to the event and on the day helping players ‘checking in’, return their scores and general queries.  We couldn’t do it with out you! 🤩🤩
