At the October Reps meeting we ask for a volunteer to host, organise and run the Biennial Tri-Am. Rachael Livingstone kindly put her hand up so this year’s event was played at Baberton Golf Club, with the club giving us full courtesy of the course. I would like to thank Rachael for all her hard work in ensuring the day was such a success in challenging conditions, at the outset. Whilst she had some helpers on the day, Rachael single-handedly managed all the preparation, raffle prizes, on course prizes, collation of the results and writing the following post for the website. We are extremely grateful for the support and generosity of both Baberton GC and Rachael, which has resulted in event raising approximately £900 for the County.

After weeks of beautiful sunny weather we knew we were asking too much for a dry day for our Biennial Tri-Am!
With a day of rain and nowhere for it to go the course held up pretty well and players complimented how good the greens were.
Thankfully the rain stopped and we managed to get 33 teams round as the course dried out. Great to see our Honorary Member and Curtis Cup player Hannah Darling supporting the competition, which drew a crowd on the balcony to watch her tee off!
Some fabulous scores were posted in some difficult conditions and lots of fun was had despite the weather.
The year’s format consisted of the 2 best Stableford points at each hole with full handicap allowance. The winning team score was a whopping 91 Stableford points by MCLGA Secretary Angela Hughes, Caroline Mansley and Sara Buchanan. Well done 👏👏👏
A club was left at the course yesterday – please email secretary@mclga.com if it is yours.

I would like to thank everyone for taking part and sticking it out in the rain. A big thank you to Maggie MacPherson for helping on the desk, checking all the scores. I’m very grateful to the club Reps for giving us raffle prizes from their clubs and finally to our hole sponsors of Michael Kanev, Jordan Gallagher and Darryn McBratney for some great prizes.
Thank you to Baberton Golf Club for allowing us to host the Tri-Am this year and for Olly and his staff for feeding us. It was great to see so many Ladies supporting the club and having a busy clubhouse again after the 2 years we have had.
