As in 2022, we were taken back to the heart of summer today at our Autumn Meeting.  The sun shone from start to finish at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society with temperature of 24 degrees ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🥵.

Numbers usually drop quite a bit for the Autumn Meeting but rose significantly this year due to having the opportunity to play Bruntsfield Links.  We had 97 ladies playing, many of whom we hadn’t seen at other Midlothian competitions.  We hope you will all come along to our Spring Meeting next year!

Everyone was in good spirits, excited to play and enjoy the course in such wonderful conditions, and the stunning views over the Forth 😎.

Grateful thanks to Bruntsfield Links for hosting our Autumn Meeting and to my old friend Dougie Cleeton (former CEO) for giving us courtesy of the course. The greens staff had prepared the course well and many of those playing experienced the many bunkers and trees! Special mention to the bar and catering team who keep us all fed and watered, and stayed open late especially for us.

Many thanks to all the wonderful support received from the Bruntsfield ladies who helped us on the registration desk for a large part of the day – our new Vice Captain, Caroline Mansley, Angela Hughes, Carolyne Hair and Jacqui Baggaley; and to Secretary Maureen Joyce, who didn’t play as she wanted to ensure everything ran smoothly. Your support at these events is hugely appreciated and valued – thank you 🤩🤩.

Thanks again to Bruntsfield Links GS for hosting us on Monday, all the players for participating and supporting the raffle and the volunteers on desk duty. We couldn’t do it without this wonderful support! 🤩

It was the final competition of 2023 for the full Members and for all the volunteers who help to run Midlothian County, it was great to see our Membership enjoying their County golf. We look forward to seeing you return next year and hopefully some of our newer Members of the County to the annual fixtures.

Look out for forthcoming information on our annual AGM and Presentation of Prizes in November.
