As we start to experience the nights drawing in and autumn approaching, we were taken back to the heart of summer today at our Autumn Meeting.  The sun shone from start to finish at Broomieknowe GC with temperatures reaching 21 degrees and higher! 🥵

Numbers usually drop quite a bit for the Autumn Meeting but we had a very respectable 44 ladies playing, who arrived in good spirits and were looking forward to golfing in the sunshine.  😎

Quite a few of our members were seeing Broomieknowe’s new clubhouse for the first time and some had never played the course before.  We hope you enjoyed it!

Everyone is getting more comfortable using the Scottish Golf App which makes a huge difference to the competition administration. So many thanks to you all for giving it a go!

The greens staff were out in full force doing their all important work and thanks must go to them, as the condition of the course was excellent. The fairways were greening up again following the recent period of hot weather we have experienced and the greens were in beautiful condition and a delight to put on.

No need for Letty Mackinnon (Kingsknowe) to putt on the 11th as she had a Hole in One!

Congratulations Letty  🎉🤩💪 we are looking forward to our drink 😉🍾

Grateful thanks to Broomieknowe GC for hosting our Autumn Meeting with special mention to the catering team who don’t usually open on a Monday but kindly provided us with some sustenance before and after our game.

Special thanks to Broomieknowe member and Past Captain, Jacky Burnett for supporting us on the desk for a large part of the day and to Coleen Derighetti and Fiona Findlay from Lochend for helping with the VMS system and results. All our volunteers are there to ensure the check in and score return runs smoothly and are on hand to answer any general queries members have. Your support at these events is hugely appreciated and valued – thank you 🤩🤩.

It was the final competition of 2022 for the full Members and from all the volunteers in Midlothian it was great to see our Membership enjoying their County golf. We look forward to seeing you return next year and hopefully some of our newer Member’s of the County to the annual fixtures.

Look out for forthcoming information on our annual AGM and Presentation of Prizes in November.
