Another mixed day of weather for the 51 players taking part in this years Autumn Meeting at Newbattle. The course was playing well, and looked wonderful with the trees turning from green to numerous shades of yellow and red.
Grateful thanks to Jim and the greens staff who had prepared the course well and many of those playing experienced very tricky pin positions (thanks Jim!). Special mention to Jackie and Lorna in the bar and Nikki and Gail who opened up early to keep us all fed and watered, and thought ahead preparing rolls for those coming in after the kitchen closed.
Many thanks for all the wonderful support received from the Newbattle ladies, Fiona Winchester, Hilary Wallace, Susan Bowen and Barbara Hamilton who helped us on the registration desk for a large part of the day – our Vice Captain, Wendy Nicholson, Colleen Derighetti, Fiona Findlay, Jane MacDonald; and to Competition Secretary Mags Hobbins and Secretary Maureen Joyce, who didn’t play due to a raging toothache but made a sterling effort to come and help as she wanted to ensure everything ran smoothly. Your support at these events is hugely appreciated and valued – thank you very much

It was the final competition of 2024 for the full Members and it was great to see our Membership enjoying their County golf. We look forward to seeing you return next year and hopefully welcome some of our newer Members of the County to the annual fixtures.
