The Autumn Meeting never usually gets a large turnout and this year was no different but everybody arrived in joyful spirits looking forward to their game.  It was a fresh start to the day but the sun came out, got quite warm even with the wind picking up, it then cooled down with a light overcast for the later starters of the day. The course was in really good condition for the players and the greens were large, smooth and rolling well. Thanks to Swanston GC who have been very helpful towards hosting us and to the greenkeeping team for the condition of the course.

During the day we recognised that some of the information on the SGL APP regarding the scorecard did not appear correct with the Swanston hard card Red Tees we were using. This would have been due to either Swanston or SGL information being incorrect in the first instance. Please note this if you played early in the day. With some valued support from the background team i.e. our Secretary, Angela, on the train home from taking part in the parade for The Royal Naval Associations, marching passed The Cenotaph at Whitehall on Sunday ⚓️ 🚣 ⚓️ 👩‍✈️ ⚓️ , everything has been corrected and updated for us this evening to process the results in time and before handicap updates take place through the night. Thanks to all the officials who helped out today so everything ran smoothly for the players.

Well done to all our prizewinners. We look forward to seeing you all at the AGM & Presentation 2021.

It was the final competition of 2021 for the full Members and from all the volunteers in Midlothian it was great to get all the fixtures played this year and seeing a lot of our Membership returning to County golf. We look forward to seeing all the regular golfers in the County return next year and hopefully some of our newer Member’s of the County to the annual fixtures.

Look out for forthcoming information on our annual AGM and Presentation of Prizes in November.
