What a fantastic end to the junior season we had yesterday at Swanston. It was a beautiful autumn day and 28 girls and their ‘adult’ partners turned up to play in our annual adult/junior 9 hole competition. They were playing for a new trophy, the ‘Hennessy Gold Cup’ presented by our junior secretary Sandra Hennessey.

There was much excitement on the first tee as the adults had the pressure of teeing off first, watched my their partners and fellow competitors. There were many cheers, jeers and “oh Mum, why did you do that?” and “well done Dads” etc Some great golf was played and it was lovely to see the smiles on faces when good shots were hit (including the adults!). Laughter was heard around the course and in the clubhouse afterwards and new friends were made – isn’t that what its all about?

Congratulations to Katie Hay Smith and her Dad Gordon, who were the overall winners with an amazing score nett score of 18.
